Genevieve International Academy(GIA) in collaboration with Nailspa Ltd., the pioneers in Sri Lanka’s nail industry boasting a 20 year long successful history, recently held the graduation ceremony of Cuccio-GIA Diploma in Nail Technology at the BMICH. The prestigious event graced by the Vocational Training Authority directors and representatives of Cuccio international, witnessed over 50 young nail technologists receiving their diplomas.
Over the years, Genevieve International Academy has trained hundreds of young people in the high-income skilled profession of nail care. Keeping abreast with all international standards GIA offers their students, nail workshops and world class training, semi-permanent make-up, waxing and beauty conducted by their internationally and locally qualified, experienced educators/lecturers. Located at Park Road, GIA takes in 20 students in a batch and all students are awarded with Cuccio International Certificates. GIA and Nailspa offer three-month internship programs for GIA students further sustaining their experience in the industry. They are guided to go on to open their very own stand-alone-salons.
Nailspa and GIA have helped the nail industry grow from just 1 stand-alone salon, to over 500 stand-alone nail salons in Sri Lanka. NailSpa achieved another milestone as their Cuccio showroom opened to the public in July this year, offering the internationally acclaimed brand in the nail industry - Cuccio USA, for professional use to all. The showroom has the best body butters, skin polishers, body washes, cuticle oils, nail polishes, products for eyelash extensions, micro blading, nail art, Umecare and several other high-quality brands.
The Genevieve International Academy founder and MD, Nilanthi Geneview Weerasinghe said nail technology is a highly paid industry all over the world. Commenting on the graduation ceremony she added , ‘This is not the closure of their learning but we want to appreciate them for what they have learned and see what future they have.’
