Shangri-La Hotel Colombo celebrates the sparkle of the season with a curated selection of celebrations creating memories to cherish. Commencing with the anticipated Christmas tree lighting ceremony, the hotel’s compilation of festive dinners, family events and musical performances will make this season an unforgettable experience.

Setting the tone for the festive season, guests walking into the hotel lobby will be greeted by the sight of Santa’s workshop brimming with the finest festive goodies, from fruity-flavoured Stollen to charming handcrafted chocolates. At the Sapphyr Lounge, take respite with family and friends and enjoy the festive high tea that reflects the flavours of the season, either at midday or in the evenings that resonate with the sound of Christmas carols.  

On Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, Shangri-La Hotel Colombo will serve up sumptuous feasts that invoke a celebratory mood. Capital Bar & Grill will present a six course menu by Chef de Cuisine Shenal for Christmas Eve. Guests can enjoy an authentic seasonal feast at Christmas Day Brunch, with a refined carvery as well as an extensive line-up of delectable appetisers and desserts. The Lotus Ballroom will host festive feasts for Christmas Eve Dinner, Christmas Day Lunch, and Christmas Day Dinner, with buffets featuring traditional favourites from roast turkey to Christmas plum pudding. For those who fancy a festive twist in closer-to-home Asian flavours, the hotel’s Yum Cha Lunch at Shang Palace will be available on 24 and 25 December.

The New Year’s Eve Party will ring in the next decade with live band OHME and their charismatic stage presence to liven up the party atmosphere, as well as DJ Ruki who will spin all-time favourite hits from the ‘70s to the present day. Indulge in light eats, cocktails and spirits in the vibrant, energetic ambiance of the elevated lawn with a marquee and welcome the 2020’s in style. Four exciting NYE packages have been designed for this venue to suit anyone’s preference. 

For those who desire a more intimate dining experience on 31 December, the six course New Year’s Eve Dinner at Capital Bar & Grill, with its choice of prime cuts, fresh seafood and decadent desserts, is the ideal option. Complemented by the sounds of live jazz, this dinner will set the mood perfectly for ringing in the New Year. For family celebrations, embark on a culinary journey around the world with an extensive international buffet serving classic favourites and creative delights at the Lotus Ballroom. 

Festive hampers full of surprise gourmet treats make the ideal gift for those who wish to spread their love this holiday season. Hampers must be ordered 24 hours in advance, and can be purchased from the Sapphyr Lounge. 

Shangri-La Hotel Colombo has once again partnered with the Boys Industrial Home and Orphanage in Colombo this season. The Home aims to educate and empower youth towards a brighter future. Guests who wish to partake in this worthy cause can purchase a wishing card valued at Rs. 500 from the festive desk or any of the restaurants. These wishing cards can be tied to the Moon Moon elephant sculpture located in the lobby.
