Honey, the elixir of royalty in the ancient times, has proven its health and cosmetic properties over centuries and remains a potent remedy for a series of illnesses and health conditions.
The bee and its honey date back to Egyptian and Greek civilisations. The bee, was a key feature in Egyptian hieroglyphs and the favourite of pharaohs and often symbolised royalty. The ancient Egyptians used honey as a sweetener, as a gift to their gods and even as an ingredient in embalming fluid.
The Greeks too, made honey cakes and offered them to the gods. Honey was also used by runners in the original Olympic Games in ancient Greece.
Siddhalepa backed by its 200-year-old Ayurveda heritage and with its deep understanding and knowledge of the benefits of bees’ honey, has introduced a series of healthy combinations of the product with other natural ingredients, believed to relieve a series of illnesses, in a convenient and attractive pack called ‘healthy life pack’.
Used in medicine for over 500 years honey, the sweet liquid made by bees using the nectar has high levels of monosaccharides, fructose and glucose and contains approximately 70% to 80% sugar, which provides its sweetness. Honey also has antiseptic and antibacterial properties.
