In a dazzling crescendo of excitement, Sirasa TV, renowned for its hit talent shows “The Voice” and “The Voice Teens,” has revealed its latest jewel in the crown: “The Voice Kids.”
A symphony of young voices is set to enchant Sri Lanka as the show takes centre stage, promising to be an extraordinary voyage of discovery for budding talents between the ages of 7 and 14.
The grand premiere of “The Voice Kids” is scheduled for Saturday, 23 September at 7:30 p.m., exclusively on Sirasa TV. The captivating journey will unfold at the prestigious Stein Studios in Ratmalana, where a live audience will view the birth of a new era in children›s talent showcases.
MTV Channel Ltd., CEO, Susara Dinal described this extraordinary endeavour as “a talent search that’s second to none.” With much enthusiasm, Dinal emphasised that it’s now the time for Sri Lanka’s gifted youngsters to take centre stage and showcase their artistic prowess.
Over the span of six thrilling months, Sri Lanka’s young prodigies will traverse a challenging path through various stages, including Blind Auditions, Battles, Sing-offs, Quarter Finals, Semi-Finals, and the Grand Finale. The competition promises not only to showcase their vocal prowess but also to nurture their growth as artistes.
The panel of judges for “The Voice Kids” is a constellation of stars, both seasoned and new. Among the luminaries are child singers who have transformed into professional sensations, such as Harshana Dissanayaka and Uresha Ravihari. Joining them are iconic superstars turned professional artistes, Pradeep Rangana and Nadini Premadasa. Rounding out this constellation is the multi-talented child sensation and now esteemed host, Natasha Perera, who will guide the young contestants on their remarkable journey.
CMG Group Director Chevaan Daniel highlighted the show’s significance beyond the 2023 season, saying, “This isn’t just for 2023. The kids who will contest will be given a platform for the future, and will inspire others to think big.” Indeed, “The Voice Kids” is not simply a talent show; it’s an investment in the future of Sri Lanka.
“The Voice Kids” is the brainchild of Dutch television producer John de Mol Jr., and its legacy is a testament to its worldwide appeal. The show has been the launchpad for numerous gifted singers who have achieved international fame. Its fiercely competitive format has consistently outshone other reality TV shows.
