Sri Lanka Embassy participates in International Handicraft Exhibition in Kuwait

Sri Lanka Embassy in Kuwait participated in the International Handicraft Exhibition organised by the Kuwait International Fair (KIF) from 18 to 20 December 2019, at its grounds.

Traditional art, handicrafts, handloom and batik products were displayed at the Sri Lankan stall. Promotional Tea packets provided by the Sri Lanka Tea Board and tourism promotional brochures sent by the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotional Bureau, were distributed among the visitors, numbering over 1,200, during the three-day event.

Sri Lankan tea was also served to all the participants, raising awareness among them on Sri Lanka’s rich tea culture and history of Ceylon Tea. A large number of participants showed genuine interest about Ceylon tea. Government officials, members of the diplomatic corps and representatives from relevant international and local organisations graced the opening ceremony. KIF is a Kuwaiti Government institution responsible for organising trade fairs and exhibitions and a member of Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI).
