The Sri Lanka High Commission in Malaysia participated in the ICWC2023 Exhibition, held on 8-9 September.
The exhibition served as a platform to exhibit the diverse cultural tapestry and promote the enchanting beauty of Sri Lanka.
During the exhibition, the Sri Lanka High Commission showcased the country’s rich culture and heritage, captivating visitors with a mesmerising display. Among the highlights were the traditional wooden masks (Wes Munu), renowned for their intricate craftsmanship and symbolic significance. These striking masks, rooted in Sri Lankan traditions, fascinated attendees and provided a glimpse into the country’s ancient artistry.
Additionally, the Sri Lanka High Commission showcased two of the nation’s prized exports; cashew and Sri Lankan tea. Renowned for their exceptional quality and distinct flavours, these products garnered significant attention and appreciation from the exhibition attendees.
As an integral part of the gala buffet, the Sri Lanka High Commission contributed three Sri Lankan dishes; “Halapa,” “Cutlets,” and “Kokis” which epitomise the rich culinary heritage of Sri Lanka.
The participation of the Sri Lanka High Commission in Malaysia at the ICWC2023 Exhibition served as a testament to Sri Lanka’s commitment to promoting its cultural heritage and establishing stronger bilateral ties. The event provided an invaluable opportunity to deepen cultural exchange and foster mutual understanding between Sri Lanka and Malaysia.
