SriLankan Airlines, the National Carrier of Sri Lanka and a member of the oneworld alliance, in an endeavour to share the joy of the season, conducted an evening of Christmas carols for the enjoyment of the incoming, transiting and outgoing passengers of its home base, Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) yesterday. The session, which was live telecast on Facebook, was viewed by followers across the globe.

With the holiday season inviting more travellers to embark on journeys, BIA has become abuzz with travel movements under stringent health and safety guidelines in place. The carols which brought together staff members of the SriLankan Airlines family attached to various divisions, signified a meaningful celebration of sharing Christmas cheer whilst being mindful of heath measures in place.

The SriLankan Choir was joined by the staff members of Airport and Aviation (Sri Lanka) Ltd. in the delivery of much-loved yuletide melodies. The session featured Sri Lanka’s music legends, the De Lanerolle Brothers who, along with the SriLankan Choir entertained the passengers with their outstanding vocals.

SriLankan Airlines that connects the island to an extensive global route network covering the Europe, the Middle East, Indian Sub-Continent, South East Asia, the Far East and Australia, anticipates to welcome tourists from across the world to its resplendent island home, Sri Lanka, for a fulfilling and memorable travel experience right from the beginning of the journey.

According to Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority, last month (November 2021) accounts for the highest tourist arrival growth post pandemic and the worldwide vaccination programme, together with relaxed regulations for fully vaccinated travellers and digitalised travel formalities have resulted in a surge of international travel movements.
