The Galle Face Hotel is ready to celebrate this festive season in style and splendour. From a holiday tree lighting ceremony to a series of food and beverage events to indulge in, guests can enjoy a truly gourmet experience this Holiday Season.

South Asia’s leading Grande Dame, along with their Chairman and owner, Sanjeev Gardiner and his family, invited friends of the hotel and in-house guests to kick off the festive season at its annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony featuring live entertainment, Christmas goodies, hot cocoa and eggnog on 4 December.

On 20 December, the iconic hotel will organise a philanthropic event, with hotel staff coming together to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas – fellowship and giving. The hotel will invite 60 children from the National Cancer Hospital to experience the magic of the season with the hotel’s staff. The talented culinary team at the Galle Face Hotel will pull out all the stops and treat these children to an evening with a mouth-watering spread of traditional seasonal delights.

Festive gourmet experiences

Along with Christmas carols and live music, The Verandah restaurant at the Galle Face Hotel will be hosting a festive dinner buffet from 23 to 26 December. The Verandah will also offer lunch on Christmas Day, as well as Boxing Day. Guests can enjoy a special selection of holiday favourites such as roast turkey crown, honey and ginger roast ham, lobster bisque and a variety of delicious buffet stations.

The 1864 restaurant will have a plated festive dinner for guests to indulge in from 4 to 31 December, along with a special Christmas Eve dinner menu with an exquisite seasonal ambiance perfect to celebrate this special time of year with loved ones.

Special goodies and seasonal sweets will be available from 4 December at the Cookie Hut which will be especially set up in the hotel lobby in celebration of the holiday season.
