Toni Garrn is known primarily as a model in high end fashion magazines such as Vogue, Elle & Harper´s Bazaar. On 10 February, she will be visiting Ambiente, the leading global trade fair for consumer goods. Here, she will find out more about the latest trends and designs but also to which extent consumption and sustainability are compatible.
Ambiente 2020 will take place from 7 to 11 February.
Toni Garrn, as a native of Hamburg, she has her home in two different worlds. On the one hand, she works as an international top model for brands such as Burberry, Chloé, Calvin Klein and Victoria’s Secret, while on the other, she has been actively involved in development aid in Africa for seven years and also founded her own project Toni Garrn Foundation which is mainly focussed on girls educational progress. A visit to a trade fair like Ambiente is a first for her – international top model meets the world’s leading trade fair.

“I’m super excited to see the different interior concepts, and the quantity of styles must be incredible at such a big show. I’ve never been to one!
“As I’m decorating my own apartment in Berlin right now I am very interested in seeing innovations and trends in the living and dining section and also in gaining insight into how consumer goods and sustainability get along,” says Toni Garrn.
Toni Garrn was born on 7 July 1992 in Hamburg, Germany. She lived with her family in Athens and London from 1995-2001 and did her Abitur 2010 in Hamburg, Germany.
Toni got her big breakthrough in the fashion industry after signing an exclusive contract with Calvin Klein in 2008 and has been a supermodel since, by working with most of the biggest fashion and beauty brands like Versace, Prada, Chanel, Elie Saab, Hugo Boss, Tommy Hilfiger, L’Oreal, Victoria’s Secret, Dior and Cartier.
Since 2014, she has been a Global Ambassador for Plan International’s ‘Because I am a Girl’ movement. In February 2016, furthering her activism and providing more focus to her work and the projects she supports, Toni established the Toni Garrn Foundation, raising money specifically for projects advocating and advancing the rights of girls and their education.
Social commitment, sustainability and fair trade are also issues that are discussed in the consumer goods industry, including Ambiente as the world’s leading trade fair. Examples include the many years of cooperation with the World Fair Trade Organisation, the MADE 51 project (an initiative of the UN Refugee Agency UNHCR) and of course the Ethical Style Guide – a directory that lists manufacturers of sustainable and ethically manufactured consumer goods at Ambiente.
With this in mind, Garrn will be taking part in a guided tour of Ambiente on 10 February. She will be able to experience the latest ideas and products at first hand – from the global market spectrum to industry trends and future visions. She will also be given insight into innovative and sustainable business models in the consumer goods industry.
