This Father’s Day, The Kingsbury is rolling out the red carpet for your father. The Kingsbury Sunday Brunch coupled with a sing-along with Corrine Almeida will be a right royal tribute to your father and fatherhood. All children are encouraged to come prepared with a small tribute they can dedicate to their hero. This will be a celebration to remember for the whole family with the father taking centre stage.
The Kingsbury spoke to a few fathers from all different professions to find out what it means for them to celebrate this day with the family.
“It is a great day to have a single focus on fatherhood and celebrate with your family. The Kingsbury has always been a wonderful place for such unique celebrations” – Dr. Kishu Gomes, CEO Chevron Lubricants Lanka
“Every day should be a special day for mothers and fathers! We need to find time for them regardless of our commitments. When it comes to respecting parents, The younger generation should not deviate from the values upheld so well especially in Sri Lanka” – Roshan Mahanama former Sri Lankan Cricketer and ICC match Referee.
“At the end of the day, family matters the most. Playing the role of father takes priority and that’s something worth really celebrating” – Aravinda Perera, Managing Director Sampath Bank
“Fatherhood is a responsibility which gives your life an entirely new meaning and purpose. As a dad of two teenage daughters I have realised fatherhood is also an oxymoron. Because, one part of you is happy and proud that your kids are growing up to be independent adults. Whilst simultaneously another part of you is really sad that your little babies are growing up so fast” – Chrishantha Jayasinghe, Managing Director Sarva Integrated.
“Music is an international language. It takes you back in memory and strings you through a journey that never ends” – Chandana De Silva, Area Manager for Sri Lanka and Maldives Emirates Airlines.
“Fatherhood is absolutely wonderful, my wife and children are the blessings and reasons for my life; and at The Kingsbury we are having a special event for the entire family to enjoy” – Scott Mawhinney General Manager, The Kingsbury
“My children are my pride and joy and they inspire me to be the person I am today. It brings me pure joy to give you the opportunity to celebrate fatherhood at The Kingsbury!” – Chef Kithsiri De Silva, Director of Culinary Services, The Kingsbury.
“Does such joy exist in this world? I only realised it when I became a father” – Mano Gunasekera Director Sales and Marketing The Kingsbury
