Proving that ‘Taste is King’ international restaurant chain Burger King introduces three scrumptious new dishes and several beverages to its menu to be served across its three Sri Lankan branches. The franchise ads a notable local flavour to its menu with the introduction of King Rice and The Spicy Chicken Burger, whilst the addition of traditional English Fish ‘N Chips extends the diversity of the menu with starting prices as low as Rs. 280.   Launched in December last year under the Softlogic Restaurants portfolio, Burger King has cornered the fast food market with its signature flame grilled flavour and friendly, efficient service; a formula which appeals to the busy executive and family alike. King Rice is a flavoursome dish that has been refined to suit the Sri Lankan palette. It combines fluffy rice infused with a wide variety of fresh herbs and spices paired with a boneless spicy crispy chicken fillet. It is accompanied by a mouthwatering curry made with natural spices and pure coconut milk along with a crunchy onion salad. Priced at just Rs. 280, King Rice is a fulfilling meal that offers an explosion of authentic flavours, and the satisfaction only a hearty rice meal can offer. The fiery Spicy Chicken Burger is the perfect combination of a boneless chicken fillet cushioned in a soft bun with the perfect dressing. The crispy and spicy chicken fillet is ideally complimented by fresh lettuce and a dollop of smooth, creamy mayonnaise all packed into a perfectly toasted sesame bun. The crunchy burger contains all the ingredients of a best seller, serving either as a complete meal or a heavy snack and is available for an affordable Rs. 390. Identifying with the Sri Lankan appetite for seafood, Burger King now serves up a tried and tested recipe for the traditional English Fish and Chips dish. Biting into this salted, crunchy, golden, battered fish, seasoned to perfection, one is reminded of the sleepy seaside regions of the UK where the aroma of freshly fried seafood wafts in the air. The crispy battered fish fillet comes with the signature Burger King thick-cut fries and a tangy tartar sauce for the perfect experience in texture and taste. This traditional English favourite is priced at Rs. 400. The restaurant recently introduced premium, international coffee brand LavAzza offering a range of coffee types from Americano and Café Latte to Cappuccino. Non coffee drinkers and chocolate fans may now order a velvety rich hot chocolate. New introductions in the chilled beverage category include original Frosty Boy Australia milkshakes in raspberry, vanilla, and chocolate. Offering more familiar tastes to accompany Burger King meals, the restaurant has introduced iced Milo as well as a range of soft drinks. The Burger King menu encompasses a range of burgers and sandwiches including the legendary Burger King Whopper, its signature flame grilled beef burger. Vegetarians are well rewarded with a selection of burgers and sandwiches with a variety of fillings. Desserts include an indulgent Hershey’s Sundae Pie, a decadent cream cheese and chocolate frozen dessert as well as three varieties of ice cream sundaes. The restaurants have a designated play area for children and operate in compliance with Burger King global standards.  The Burger King restaurants are conveniently located in Rajagiriya, Mount Lavinia and Colpetty.
