Careems, Sri Lanka’s premier jewellery makers unveiled a new collection of “sailing” inspired jewellery at the recently held 26th edition of FACETS Sri Lanka International Gem and Jewellery Show.
Since its inception in 1890, the heritage luxury jewellery brand has been synonymous with quality gemstones, superior craftsmanship and exquisite design. Careems’ Sail collection was displayed at the FACETS Premier Jewellery Pavilion which showcased an array of Sri Lanka’s finest jewellery masterpieces and exceptional designs.
Mimicking the silhouette of a modern sail, the new Careems collection aims to revive the tradition of handcrafted jewellery for a new generation of jewellery lovers. Careems’ unique ‘Sail Cut’ cabochon gemstones, micro pave settings and rope links are the mainstay of the new collection.
The gemstones used in the designs include blue and pink sapphires, blue topaz, aqua chalcedony, black and white diamonds, white onyx, rose quartz as well as green and purple hued amethysts.
Targeted at affluent Millennials who favour an elegant, contemporary aesthetic, the collection boasts 32 trendsetting designs. Careems’ fresh design approach is filled with spontaneity and a sense of fun which is clearly evident in each of the new jewellery creations.
Speaking at the FACETS International Gem and Jewellery Show, Careem Jewellers Managing Director, Shezard Careem stated: “Our Sail Collection, while honoring the age old traditions of sailing, evokes the joys of dreaming, exploring and discovery associated with modern day sailing.
