Celebrations are a significant factor in bringing out the best in spirit and tradition. St. Patrick’s Day is celebrated in many parts of the world, especially by Irish communities and organisations.
Marc Schroer, Director Food and Beverage of SLHT, states: “A celebration can be a passageway to the most profound aspects of life. It surfaces the enthusiasm and exuberance and respects festivities in many cultures. So we thought we should bring out the Irish in all of us as we start the year with St. Patrick’s Day on 17 March.”
The three watering holes in the property not only will serve delicious cuisine they are also geared with the famous beverages that bring out the best at all festivities.
Gimanhala Lounge will have something to hit the spot. Located on the Lobby Level the Gimanhala Lounge offers from sunrise to sunset one of the most sensational views across the resort and out to the Indian Ocean. A Sri Lankan High Tea in the afternoon to signature beverage and dancing to the cover hits of the house band until late is on offer. Here the St. Patrick’s Day festivities will also be on offer.
Ulpatha doubles as the resort Golf Club House and the centre for sporting, social and recreational excellence. Marc avers, “We have made Ulpatha pretty simple providing a warm and friendly setting throwing in a few great reasons for people to meet, gather, and bring on the festivities of St Patrick’s Day. And it is Friday night which gives you another reason to celebrate.”
The Pool Bar situated by the Sunset Pool too will have much to offer.
Set beside the Indian Ocean and framed by swaying king coconut trees, Shangri-La’s Hambantota Resort & Spa is located on Sri Lanka’s ancient Spice Route, along the island’s lush, unspoiled Southern coastline.
