Celebrity chef and fashion shows at Hilton Colombo during HSBC Colombo Fashion Week

The most sought after glamorous events of the year, the HSBC Colombo Fashion Week will take place at the Hilton Colombo from 6 to 8 February for the third consecutive year. A week- long celebration with colourful promotions at Thorana, Spoons and Fine Things will take place to mark the HSBC Colombo Fashion Week.

Leading up to the grand event, the Thorana Lounge will host a series of mini fashion shows during high tea from 3-5 February. The “Bright Spark Show” in collaboration with CFW featuring some colourful clothes created by local designers will be held between 4 and 5 p.m. A gourmet high tea buffet will be dished up with over 30 varieties of flavoured Dilmah teas from 3 to 6 p.m. The Fine Things pastry shop will also bake an array of fashionable cupcakes which will be available during the week from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. The biggest promotion during CFW will happen at Spoons where the restaurant will host celebrity chef Jodi-Ann from South Africa. Twenty-six-year-old Jodi graduated from Silwood Kitchen, one of South Africa’s oldest culinary training schools, in 2005 and winning every major award available. Soon after that Jodi went through a rigorous selection process and was selected by the South African Chefs Association to join the National culinary team. She also has gone on to become the Chairman of the SA Chefs’ Association Gauteng Regional Committee, the

Culinaire of the Chaine de Rottiseur Johannesburg Baillage as well as being awarded a seat on the Junior Liason Committee for the World Association of Chefs Association. Jodi was also selected as a Cosmopolitan Fun Fearless Female in 2009. There will be a unique, designer menu carefully prepared by Jodi and Hilton Colombo’s Executive Chef Danial Leah from 3 to 8 February during dinner.
