Christmas traditions come alive at Waters Edge Winter Wonderland

As Christmas draws nigh and the festivities reach its peak, Waters Edge with their spin on the traditional Winter Wonderland will bring back many nostalgic family traditions for the Christmas week.

Mrs. Claus is also making an early appearance this season, bringing with her traditional Christmas goodies to Sri Lanka’s only drive-through bakery ‘The Bakery on the Edge’. Mouth-watering treats such as Christmas Stollen, Christmas Breudher, Gingerbread Cookies and Seasonal cupcakes specially baked in a ‘rational’ oven courtesy of Rational will be available from 3 p.m. onwards commencing 19 December and will be available until 24 December. Freshly roasted turkey with all its traditional trimmings and oven-roasted meats such as honey-roast glazed ham, cold roast chicken, English gammon and roasted Tom turkey are also available from 6 p.m. onwards. Customers can drive in to Waters Edge and witness themselves these delights being prepared to perfection at the lawn outside the bakery. Come Christmas Eve families will gather at the Waters Edge to herald in Christmas with a gala dinner accompanied by traditional Christmas rhythms in the background from 7:30 p.m. onwards. Christmas brunch will kick off at 11:30 a.m. and dinner from 7:30 p.m. onwards will also feature an extensive menu of all-time favourite goodies with special treats for the young ones. The festivities will continue on Boxing Day for when you need to take a well-deserved rest with family and friends with dinner at 7:30 p.m. Finish off the year in high spirits with the hotel’s unique take on a New Year’s Eve party. The Grand Ballroom will be transformed in to a ‘Restaurant with a Dance Floor’ where families can enjoy the best of both worlds. Music courtesy of Manilal and Magic Box Mix Up and a 50 foot dance-floor invites revellers to party on till the dawn of 2016. While enjoying a multi-cuisine buffet guests also have the chance to walk away with return air tickets to London and Singapore. Guests are invited to bring their own spirits while corkage will also be thrown in free. Tickets priced at Rs. 8,000 per head are available at the hotel. All of these special events and promotions come wrapped with the inherent hospitality and service standards that are synonymous with the Waters Edge.
