Cinnamon Air serves up for tennis; ready to airlift ‘Bradby’ enthusiasts

Cinnamon Air, Sri Lanka’s premier domestic airline has come forward as a sponsor of the Cinnamon Lakeside Open Tennis Championship 2014, on from 21 May to 5 June at the Cinnamon Lakeside, Colombo. This year’s championship will be the third instalment of the tournament to be hosted by the hotel and is featured on the Sri Lanka Tennis Association’s (SLTA) yearly event calendar as an event for all top ranking tennis players in the country. The championship will see the participation of approximately 400 players, all vying for the coveted titles, cash prizes and a selection of Cinnamon Air tickets that will be up for grabs to the winners in several categories. The tournament will host both men’s and women’s category matches, and all matches will be held simultaneously at the Cinnamon Lakeside, Colombo tennis courts. Commenting on the tennis championship, Cinnamon Air Director Romesh David said: “Cinnamon Air is happy to be able to support this annual event that gives the best players in the country the opportunity to compete whilst also allowing young talent to flourish and be recognised.” He added: “Participation in the sponsorship of this tournament, along with Cinnamon Air’s special promotional flights during the recently concluded Nuwara Eliya season and the forthcoming Bradby Shield match in Kandy, highlights Cinnamon Air’s commitment to offering relevant and unique experiences to discerning Sri Lankan travellers that go beyond mere convenience.” Cinnamon Air is currently offering rugby enthusiasts the chance to travel at unmatched speed and luxury between Colombo and Kandy on 23, 24 and 25 May to witness the 70th Bradby Shield encounter, with two daily flights between Water’s Edge and Kandy. All Cinnamon Air scheduled flights operate in code share with SriLankan Airlines, consequent to which they are also be available for sale throughout the SriLankan Airlines network and all Travel Agents around the world via Global Distribution Systems, under a “UL” designated flight number.
