Colombo Fashion Week announces Supermodel Sri Lanka

In its attempt to boost, formalize and raise the profile of Sri Lankan modeling industry Colombo Fashion Week (CFW) launches Supermodel Sri Lanka; an island wide hunt for fresh faces who would be mentored, groomed and trained as models that would walk the catwalk not only in Sri Lanka but overseas too. CFW a high profile fashion showcase platform has taken upon itself to boost a complimentary industry of modelling along with key partners Odel, Sifani, Luv Essence, Hameedia, Leo Burnett among others to partner an initiative identify and incentivize Model Hunt for fresh faces. Supermodel Sri Lanka will be an annual project, which will identify and train models who will then walk the catwalk at the prestigious Colombo Fashion Week, one international assignment and a campaign each by the high profile partner brands. This will give 5 deserving male and female models a good start to their careers. Supermodel Sri Lanka will also raise the profile of models to make it profession. The selection panel and training panel will include individuals with international experience to make it a project with international class. “Perine Fernando has made an international mark and still works in New York, Jacqueline Fernandez who last modelled at Colombo Fashion Week 2007 before heading to India, we are sure there will be many more talented fresh faces who will represent Sri Lanka in personality and beauty. Modelling is a complementary industry to fashion and it required a boost hence why we are working with Otara and key brands like Sifani, Luv Essence, Fouzul of FH, Ramani to build a professional modelling infrastructure.” says Ajai V Singh of Colombo Fashion Week.
