Located at a scenic, secluded and serene corner of Malabe, The Regent is the latest property of LAHRC Management Services Ltd. The Regent provides an idyllic haven from the chaos of life, which the directors have announced would be accessible to a selected few companies and individuals through a membership. The highly anticipated membership details having being finalised, the membership to the country club will be sold to companies in the Malabe, Kaduwela and Biyagama areas.
The Regent Director Shehan Gomez revealed that the premiere package will hold five memberships categorised as 2 Silver, 2 Gold and 1 Black membership and the company will be given the freedom to give the memberships to employees of their choosing. The Silver and Gold memberships will be for individuals while the Black will be a family membership. Additionally, Gomez further revealed that the membership would be extended to a selected number of individual patrons as per the directors’ approval.
With an extensive garden and swimming pool already available to the visitors, in addition to a banquet hall which can house up to 150 packs and two conference halls for smaller gatherings, The Regent will be further equipped to provide entertainment activities as well as other services in the future.
For the health conscious patrons’ convenience, The Regent is already building a gymnasium which would be completed towards the end of September. The proprietor has acquired land to build a modern spa, laundromat and badminton court and the layouts for a bigger banquet hall, restaurant and a members’ lounge are finalised with hopes of completing construction work in 2016.
Members at The Regent would be eligible to a host of benefits including the use of facilities within the premises as well as discounts and perks across The Reefs Edge Hotel Uswetakeiyawa, the Grand Ark banquet hall, The Hamilton Deck, the Grand Ark banquet hall and the St Lachlan Hotel and Suites in Negombo.
“Packaging it all together is why we feel that members will get the most benefit out of (the membership),” stated Gomez, elaborating that along with the facilities offered by the club house, members would also have access to enjoying the hospitality available at The Reefs Edge Hotel, the St Lachlan Hotel and Suites and The Hamilton Deck, in addition to the services offered by the Grand Ark banquet hall and the Grand Ark banquet hall, all with one membership.
Making use of the extensive garden available at the premises, The Regent has already constructed a kids’ swimming pool as well as demarcated a section within the garden as a children’s play area. Therefore members who wish to enjoy the day at The Regent with their spouses and children can be sure that there would be activities that are appropriate for each member of the family, ensuring that there would never be a dull moment.
In addition to the various outdoor activities, The Regent also provides the visitors with indoor entertainment activities with an array of board games, foosball, table tennis and pool tables available for the visitors to select from.
Furthermore, Gomez stated that there is the possibility that in the future the country club would hold swimming, yoga and several other classes so that the members’ time can be spent both leisurely and usefully.
While travelling to Malabe from a distance posed numerous problems the past, with the extensive road development projects taking place visitors would be able to reach The Regent after a relatively short journey via the Outer Circular Highway through the Kaduwela exit. Furthermore, with the construction of the Colombo- Kandy Expressway, visitors would also be able to access the Reefs Edge Hotel, another property under LAHRC Management Services easily.
“It’s something different,” said Ranshan Gomez, who would work closely with his brother Shehan Gomez as a Director at The Regent. Swimming clubs, golf clubs and other sporting facilities can easily be found in Sri Lanka. However The Regent is unique as the country club unites several of these facilities in one location. Combined with the fact that the membership would be extended to other properties, Ranshan Gomez said that The Regent ‘has more to offer that makes the membership more exclusive and prestigious’.
When asked about the other properties, Shehan Gomez stated that the soon-to-be-launched property Hamilton Deck is also attracting a lot of attention from potential customers. The Hamilton Deck offers a clubhouse, four standard rooms and two water villas with an extensive garden and an infinity pool overlooking the Hamilton Canal. Possessing a turfed area of 38,000 sq. ft., the Hamilton Deck can accommodate up to 2,000 guests and is designed to host company retreats, carnivals and outdoor events.
Shehan Gomez stated that once a few pre-launch events had been hosted within the premises to ensure that Hamilton Deck can successfully manage events of a large nature, the property would be marketed after October.
As stated above, the membership would open a world of benefits and discounts not just at The Regent, but across all the properties under LAHRC Management Services. The membership would also create an opportunity for the members to belong to an exclusive community within the premises where they will be free to create and solidify strong connections with other members.
