Curry Leaf spices things up with Felicia Sorensen

Queen of Curries Sikhamani Felicia Sorensen, assisted by head chef Karu and his team, will stir things up at Hilton Colombo’s authentic Sri Lankan restaurant, the Curry Leaf, with her magnificent array of local favourites from 15 to 24 February during dinner.



Knighted by her native island, Sri Lankan born Felicia Sorensen’s knighthood was in recognition of her promotion of Sri Lankan cuisine throughout the world of which she has earned the respect of countless hotels, restaurants and clients.

Crispy hoppers with various fillings such as cheese, curry leaves, ham and more exotic creations will be available during the promotion. The Curry Leaf restaurant is also famous for serving the best seafood buffet along with extensive Sri Lankan specialties such as string hoppers, pittu, roti, kottu roti, spicy curries and the best of them all, ‘chilli crab’, the signature dish.

Seafood is prepared according to the guest’s preference. Visitors can make their selection from the fresh seafood display and the chefs will prepare it accordingly. For all sweet lovers, there will be many traditional Sri Lankan sweetmeats too! Enjoy hot kavum, crispy kokis prepared by the kavum amme right in front of you.

Sorensen’s skill and reputation gained her entree into the ranks of Les Disciples d’ Auguste Escoffier in 1980, as well as being honoured in 1992 as the first Asian chef to officiate at the Robert Mondavi Winery’s Great Chefs program. She is Asia’s most renowned proponent of Sri Lankan cuisine and her consulting for Asian, European and American hotels and restaurants have brought the taste of her island’s cookery to a discerning clientele.
