Dash – a name that sparkles with quality – has this launched a new product, Dash Laundry Soap. Dash is a name synonymous with quality. This quality has now been certified. Dash comes to consumers today with the same familiar reliability and consumer-friendly qualities, and stamped with the TFM assurance. TFM or Total Fatty Matter is used as a parameter to identify the quality of soap. TFM quantifies the amount of fatty acids in a soap bar proportionate to its weight. Specifications for laundry soap within Sri Lanka are governed by Sri Lanka Standard 554. SLS 554 dictates that laundry soap should have a minimum of 59% TFM. But what members of the public are not aware of is that some soaps do not even border on this percentage, let alone meet this required quality standards. As the manufacture of soap is not a complicated exercise, soap has been used for cleansing purposes for many years. As time flew by however, soap with its historic usage ought to have improved with time. However, soap seemed to remain just where it started out – with less emphasis on quality. Even today, many bars of soap flaunted in the market have less to offer in terms of TFM. If one were to take a closer look and read the small print on the back of soap bars, one may find the words ‘detergent soap’ or ‘laundry bar’ with both varieties containing less than 59% TFM. Such products cannot be classified as laundry soap according to SLS 554. However, unfortunately some of these products are marketed as laundry soap to mislead the public. Dishearteningly, the sole profit-motive has driven manufacturers to cut down on the percentage of TFM – thereby flooding the markets with products that are not of the required and specified quality standards. Today, however, an intelligent consumer has emerged. Questions are being asked and Multichemi International has the answer – Dash Laundry Soap. With Dash, poor quality soaps will begin to literally wash away as the focus centres on quality. It is interesting to note that the specified percentage of TFM ensures lesser wastage. The correct TFM percentage ensures longer usage, better quality washing, more foaming and also stops the soap from dissolving at a ‘wasteful’ rate. Such soaps with the correct TFM percentage are soft on the clothes and give the consumer the ability to wash a larger volume of clothes. The absence of the specified amount of TFM comes as a warning too. Soaps made with lesser amounts of TFM can actually harm the clothes, as they may contain inferior filler agents. These soaps dissolve faster and will not actually ‘wash’ the clothes. Furthermore, they can harm the very hands that use them. An event to launch this quality product – the tailor-made, laundry soap was held under the auspices of Chairman and Managing Director of Multichemi Group Samantha Kumarasinghe. Several high level members of the management team were also present at the occasion. Speaking at the occasion, the General Manager of Multichemi International, Tikiri Seneviratne said the launched product is true laundry soap. He further stressed that Dash Laundry Soap is of genuine quality. Seneviratne stated that customers would be able to compare and discover the superior quality of Dash Laundry Soap and identify the difference. National Sales Manager Lasitha Vithanarachchi, speaking on the occasion said the Dash venture has put forth more than 25 quality products that have won the confidence and trust of the public. He said that Dash Car Wash is in the forefront in car wash products and that Dash Safematic has created a revolution in the laundry care market. Speaking further, Vithnarachchi said that products such as Dash Spring Time Air Freshener and Dash Comox Superior Toilet Bowl Cleaner are among a wide range of Dash quality products in the market. Multichemi Group marks its 20th anniversary this year – and the bubbles of celebration are from Dash laundry soap, which is being introduced at this significant occasion.
