It’s time once again to take your cameras out and start shooting the perfect shot of sandy beaches, architectural sites, landscapes, wildlife and portraits with Cinnamon Cover Shot Challenge!
The second edition will take on the relatively unexplored shores in the Eastern Coasts of Sri Lanka. The winning photograph will be featured in the cover of Sri Lanka’s premier lifestyle magazine ‘Cinnamon’ which has viewership of over 100,000 in Sri Lanka and Maldives.
The Cinnamon Cover Shot Challenge East Coast powered by International Finance Corporation (IFC) will feature an itinerary that will span for three nights and four days from 30 September to 2 October covering excursions and landscapes in Trincomalee, Pasikudah, Batticaloa and Arugam Bay.
Travel to and from Colombo to the East Coast will be on a domestic aircraft, making this another amazing opportunity to have a bird’s eye view over Sri Lanka’s beautiful landscapes.
Your first day will be mainly exploring the city of Batticaloa which includes the opportunity to capture lagoon fishing, the fort, portraits from the city followed by an exclusive workshop with premier wildlife photographer Vimukthi Weeratunga who also curate tours to Ranthmabore National Park – India, Mountain Gorilla Safaris in Rwanda and African safaris capturing the great migration.
The second day will be spent in Arugam Bay after an early breakfast in Batticaloa. Snap the activities at the Surf Point in Arugam Bay followed by lunch and a lagoon boat tour. Turn in early to prepare for a 4:30 a.m. wake up call to capture the amazing sunrise from Kudumbigala Rock and safari at the Kumana National Park.
After the safari you will head over to Trinco Blu by Cinnamon in Trincomalee. Before you head to the hotel you can continue your photographic expedition while you visit the Koneshwaram Temple and the Trincomalee Fort. Your final day will have two optional expeditions – the first one being a boat ride to Pigeon Island and the second is to Kokilai Lagoon before you head back to the hotel for lunch and depart to catch your flight back to Colombo!
