Professor Ramani Arsecularatne, a veteran cosmetologist in Sri Lanka, is the Managing Director of the Ramani Arsecularatne International Academy of Cosmetology and Fine Arts. In an in-depth interview on skin care, Prof. Arsecularatne noted that pigmentation, acne, matured skin problems and sun burn are the four most prevalent skin disorders faced by Sri Lankans. “To address these issues, we provide a variety of facials, laser, radio frequency and home care treatments.” Moisture is critical in maintaining the skin’s protective barrier layer and making skin look younger and healthier. With age, skin becomes a weaker protection barrier and loses its elasticity, which makes fine lines and wrinkles appear. Hence, from a young age, maintaining and providing moisture for skin is of utmost importance. With the use of right products and treatment the skin can either regain or maintain its moisture. “A home care program which I recommend to maintain moisturised skin, reduce dark circles and lessen mature looking skin is the applicap Nourishing Night Oil (NNO), a product focused on moisture and recovery. The Vitamin E in NNO is extracted from sunflower oil, which helps prevent wrinkles, fine lines and under eye darkness maintain moisturised skin,” noted Prof. Arsecularatne. Along with repairing cells, Vitamin E works to block free radicals from the body, which play a large part in the ageing process. “In addition to Vitamin E, the anti-oxidant, NNO also contains jojoba oil. The best and most luxurious plant extract is jojoba. Jojoba oil, which is the base product for NNO, is a vehicle ingredient used to deliver deep into the skin, keeping it hydrated and nourished”. “Since NNO is not an oral medication and gives no damage or burning sensation, I recommend this to two in 10 of my clients,” stated Prof. Arsecularatne. NNO is the only product of its kind to be researched and studied by the ‘Spin Control Institute’ of France and proven to increases moisture by 220% from the initial application. Anna Adrian, cosmetologist, student of Professor Ramani Arsecularatne and owner of her salon, has been in the industry for 10 years. Most patients consult her on issues pertaining to dark circles, wrinkles and fine lines. “I use a variety of machinery treatments and facials. For wrinkles, under eye darkness and dry skin, I recommend NNO. I suggest this night oil since it is absorbed rapidly by the skin, which makes the moisturising and nourishing process effective in a short period of time. NNO can be used continuously and results can be seen in three to four weeks.” NNO, the first night oil to be introduced in Sri Lanka, has been in the market for six years, making it the preferred and most trusted skin care solution among many Sri Lankan consumers. NNO has received approval from CDDA, the GMP certification from Australia, Thai and European Union quality accreditations. A product of parent company Mega Life Sciences, NNO is imported and distributed in Sri Lanka by A. Baur & Co. Established in 1983, Mega Life Sciences is a company engaged in manufacturing, marketing, selling and distributing nutritional, herbal, OTC & prescription drugs in developing countries. Mega Life Sciences operates in more than 50 countries. In Sri Lanka, the company markets a variety of beauty oriented products such as NNO, Glow and NuENAT.
