The Tourist Guide Privilege Card is a card which has been introduced by Fashion Bug for tourist guides who bring in tourists sales to Fashion Bug outlets.

“With tourism being a key foreign exchange earner, tour guides play a major role in our economy, hence we felt it was only fair that we reward them for boosting our sales,” said Director Fashion Bug Shabier Subian.

Fashion Bug’s ever-increasing product range, superior quality at affordable prices, as well as their attentive staff and up market showrooms have proved to be popular with both local shoppers as well as tourists who appreciate Fashion Bug’s offerings.

Subian expressed his gratitude to the tour guides present as well as their loyal customers who have patronised them over the years.

Fashion Bug have been in the apparel industry for more than 22 years now, having been founded in 1994 in Bandarawela with a seven-member team, the first shop being a mere 500 square feet in Bandarawela town.

The brainchild of Founders Rizal Subian, Ashan Subian and A.C.M. Tharick, today it has evolved into a household brand that boasts of 16 outlets island-wide. Fashion Bug currently numbers over 1,250 Sri Lankan men and women amongst its staff, who hail from diverse backgrounds and ethnicities; hence constitutes a truly Sri Lankan corporate entity. An equal opportunity employer, Fashion Bug prides itself on the fact that they invest in its employees, which it believes is a key to its success.

All showrooms currently stock ladies, gents and children’s clothing, as well as household linen. Both Eastern as well as Western wear is on sale, while a range of designer sarees, kurthis and salwars, together with accessories, handbags, shoes, etc in a range of designs and colours to suit all tastes are available.

“In addition to the array of  our very own brands such as Amazing Lanka, Amani, Hush, Jobbs, Bigg Boss and Bug Junior, Fashion Bug also features international brands such as Levis, Crocodile, Amante and Triumph in our showrooms,” said Subian.

Fashion Bug was the first clothing retailer of magnitude to mark its presence in the south when it opened its 17th branch in Matara in March 2013 marking a significant milestone for Fashion Bug as well as southern Sri Lanka.

Other than the 1,250 employees who are currently on the payroll, Fashion Bug sustains over 2,000 Sri Lankan men and women via the supplier chain that manufactures their own brands. “Some of our suppliers who have been with us since inception have grown from SMEs to large factories side by side with us, and we take pride in their success,” said Subian.
