Film bonanza from Hiru TV

As part of its weekly offering, Hiru TV has lined up several interesting movies this long weekend.

On Friday, at 12 noon, the Tamil film ‘Dasavathaaram’ with Sinhala subtitles be aired. The film takes viewers back to the 12th century where Rangaraja Nambi (Kamal Haasan), a staunch Vaishnavite who beats the Raja Kulothunga’s (Napoleon) soldiers who are on the urge of removing the statue of God Perumal from the temple. Directed by K.S. Ravikumar, Dasavathaaram cast include Kamal Haasan, Malikka Sherawat, Jayapradha, Asin, Napoleon, P. Vasu, Seetha and Nagesh.

At 10 p.m. on Friday, ‘Undaya’, a Sinhala movie, will be shown. Directed by K.A.W. Perera, the movie’s cast includes Sangeetha Weerarathne, Priyankara Perera, Sathischandra Edirisinghe, Lional Deraniyagala and Channa Perera.

On Saturday, 12 noon, Hiru TV will telecast ‘Sanduni’, a Sinhala movie, which was handled by Indian director A.A. Junaideen. Cast includes Arjuna Kamalanath, Anandi (Indian), Rex Kodippili and M.V. Balan (Indian).

The Sinhala movie on Sunday, 12 noon will be ‘Bawasasara’, directed by Mario Jayathilake. Sabeetha Perera, Sanath Gunathilake, Sanoja Bibile, Rex Kodippili, Mayuri Samarasinghe and Linton Semage star in this popular movie.
