Flavours of Pakistan at the Cinnamon Grand

World renowned Chef Amir Khan is back in Sri Lanka to take your culinary experience to the next limit. Cooking up a storm at the Cinnamon Grand Courtyard, he promises to satisfy your penchant for Pakistani cuisine, as well as some spicy Persian, Turco-Mongol, Afghan, Sikh, Arabic and British dishes. As this year’s World Spice Festival fires off, Cinnamon Grand will dish out an authentic Pakistani spread that promises to gratify any gourmand.

Have your choice of bready bases such as chapatis, tandoori roti, paratha and naan or try a rice repast of authentic Basmati rice pulao, Murgh biryani with pickles or Tahiri biryani.The barbecued Peshawari mutton, boneless (Boti) Bhawali and Lahori meat selections on skewers, the piquant beef Lahori Nihari, Chicken Karahi and grilled lamb kebabs and tikkas are specially seasoned for those who enjoy their meat. Veggi fans are not left ignored and are offered an array of vegan dishes to relish, including lentil and chickpea fusions, vegetable kebabs and Lahori dishes such as Punjabi Bhartha and Harybhary Tinday.

In proving that a Pakistan feast can be healthy, the Chefs will also toss up some tasty dips and salads, including cucumber Kuchumer, diced capsicum, coriander and LalLobiya salad. These can even be enjoyed as a side dish with a slice off the carving station or the live taka tak action station. You may also be tempted to try the unique fusion cuisine which has come to be known as ‘Pakistani Chinese’, melding hotness, sweetness and sourness into creating an inimitable flavour.

Rest assured your sweet tooth will not go unsatisfied as traditionally delightful drinks, sweets and desserts, both warm and cool, including gulab jamun, kheers, chai, falooda, lassi and squash will lure you to the table.

This fabulous feast is on from 5 to 14 October, at the Cinnamon Grand’s Courtyard Restaurant at just Rs. 1,950 plus taxes.
