‘Galle Pola’ this month

Galle’s Golden Flea Market aka Galle Pola was founded in December 2012 in love of local heritage, fair trade, multiculturalism and community spirit. This year’s ‘Galle Pola’ will be held on Sunday 25 August at the Law Court Square, Galle Fort from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. There will be a vendor fee of Rs. 500. There is no deadline for entry as a vendor. There will be live music at this fifth incarnation of the market. Pop-up cafes will be serving up delicious international food and beverages. Wares on sale at the scores of stalls dotted around beautiful Law Court Square will include Afghan carpets, Amazonian mosquito repellent, Ayurvedic remedies, aromatherapy oils, antiques, art, baby clothes, books, bric-a-brac, brioche, bunting, candles, coconuts, chutneys, cakes, cards, crepes, decorations, designer brand t-shirts, shirts and dresses, elderflower cordial, handmade soaps, home furnishings, Iranian burgers, kids clothes, hand bags, jams, jewelry, lace ware, lamps, pure organic fair trade food products, recycled jewelry and handbags, sweets, teas, toys, trinkets, vintage posters, postcards and woodwork.
