High styles at the Sunsilk-Ramani Fernando Hair and Beauty Academy graduation

Elegantly dressed models with breathtaking 1920s hairstyles, done by the graduates of the Sunsilk Ramani Fernando Academy left the audience amazed and in awe. The occasion was the 9th Graduation Ceremony of the Sunsilk Ramani Fernando Hair and Beauty Academy which saw over 100 students graduate from the Colombo and Kandy Academies. Of the 100 graduating students 18 were Sunsilk scholarship winners.
Unilever Sri Lanka Marketing Director - Home and Personal Care Siddharth Banerjee was the Chief Guest at the event, while MP Rosy Senanayake was the Guest of Honour.
With a ‘Great Gatsby’ theme, the evening kicked off with a dance by Latin American dance champion, Noary Samarasinghe and her partner Charitha De Silva, followed by the welcome address by Sunsilk Ramani Fernando Training Academy Managing Director Lucky Lenagala. The spectacular event had the graduating students’ showcase their Gatsby inspired styles, while Nashali Fernando, a product of the academy and current employee of the salon performed a stunning solo.
Adding to the glamour, a special fashion segment was showcased by Aslam Hussain along with an entertaining dance performance by Kanthi Ranchigoda’s students.
Ushani Kalpani Nayanthara was recognised as the best Sunsilk student for her exceptional performance throughout out the course. She was awarded Rs. 50,000 by Sunsilk to support her in setting up her own salon. Delivering the keynote address, Ramani Fernando Salons CEO and Managing Director Ramani Fernando said: “I am delighted to once again host our graduation ceremony for the 9th consecutive year. As the demand to join the hair and beauty industry has increased, our academy has attracted a greater number of students, making this graduation the second ceremony for 2013. I wish to congratulate the graduating class, for the effort and commitment given throughout the course.”
