Hiru FM awarded prestigious MACO award

Hiru FM, one of Sri Lanka’s leading radio stations, was recently awarded the accolade as the island’s most popular radio channel of the year by the prestigious International MACO Awards surpassing all radio stations in the country. Hiru FM, a part of the Asia Broadcasting Corporation Private Limited, was recognised for its outstanding work and achievements in the radio industry in Sri Lanka for the year 2012.

Known for the variety of Sinhalese pop music Hiru FM is a favorite channel among all families irrespective of age or gender. The MACO Sri Lankan radio station of the year, Hiru FM also boasts an impressive online presence with an interactive website and strong presence on social channels like Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.

Held for the sixth consecutive year, the MACO award ceremony in Colombo is known to be one of the most prestigious awards night. Winning the acclaimed title of the ‘Most Popular Radio Station,’ Hiru FM has made its mark in the annals of the Sri Lankan radio industry.

Hiru FM continues its winning streak, as the station also bagged the Manthan Award for South Asia, an E-Swabhimani award and the journalism award in the recent past. Hiru FM continues to be one of the fastest growing radio channels in Sri Lanka.
