Laksala joins hands with Sampath Bank for second consecutive year

Laksala, the only State-owned gift and souvenir boutique, operating through 13 showrooms located island-wide, joined hands with Sampath Bank, recognised recently as ‘The Best Managed Bank 2016’ by the Asian Banker Leadership Achievement Programme, to launch a card promotion for the second consecutive year.

The promotion kicked off on 1 June and will continue till 31 July. The promotion held with Sampath Bank last year was very well received by a cross section of local clientele who were highly conscious of the quality, value for money, customer service and care offered by Laksala.

Laksala Director General/CEO Ali Ahlam Nawaz commented: “We are very happy to partner with Sampath Bank which has won many accolades in the local as well as the global banking arena, synergising with Laksala customer base to offer the wide variety of quality guaranteed products, manufactured by our Sri Lankan craft entrepreneurs.”

Further, Sampath Bank Managing Director Aravinda Perera stated that they are pleased to continue this partnership with Laksala and assist its efforts to foster underprivileged craft entrepreneurs by providing them a gateway to the gift and souvenir buyers in the world. 

The Laksala CEO added that they have finalised all arrangements to participate at the forthcoming 4th China South Asia Exposition, to be held in Kunming, China from 12 to 17 June, showcasing Laksala’s gift and souvenir products with a view to venturing in to the Chinese market.

As a novel concept, Laksala is focusing on converting its showrooms in Colombo 7, Racecourse Promenade and Katubadda to offer a wider range of exclusive handloom products with attractive price points shortly.
