Lankans vie for top awards at Fashion Asia

Fashion Asia is the first establishment of its kind in the world, a platform for Asian media to identify and reward excellence, inspiring individuals in fashion and related industries. Fashion Asia is considered a moving power in the Asian fashion field and promotes the development of the Asian fashion industry. Considered the ‘Oscars of Fashion,’ the Fashion Asia Awards provides ambitious and driven individuals and institutions much-needed exposure, promoting fresh talent, creating opportunities, and giving the fashion industry in Asia a boost. The organisation consists of members of the media spanning the whole of Asia, making connections, interacting and exchanging ideas, therefore improving techniques and media ethics. Initially selected as the best in each field by the National Director and presented to the world body, then scrutinised by an international panel of judges for their eligibility to vie for each category award. These nominees represent their own countries in 15 different categories. This year a celebrated delegation will be participating at the award ceremony to be held in Chengdu, China in October 2013. The selected delegation comprise of the following categories; 1. Asian Top Fashion up-coming Designer of the Year – Thisakya Senanayake 2. Asian Top Fashion Model of the Year (Male) – Madura Peiris 3. Asian Top Fashion Photographer of the year – Ruvin De Silva 4. Asian Top Fashionable contest of the Year –TNL On Stage 5. Asian Top Fashionable Tourist Attraction of the Year – The Blue Water Hotel Wadduwa 6. Asian Top Fashionable Singer of the Year – Nadine Samarasinghe
