‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ for Nayana Karunaratne from AIHBA, India

The All India Hairdressers and Beauticians Association (AIHBA) celebrated the launching of the AIHBA Maharastra Chapter and IHB (Institute of Hairdressers and Beauticians) Education in Mumbai on 24 March.
At the event, Nayana Karunaratne, together with five Indian veterans were awarded the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ for contributions made to the Indian hair and beauty industry. She was the first Sri Lankan to receive such an award from this prestigious association. The event was attended by over 1,000 AIHBA members and other industry dignitaries.
All India Hair and Beauty Association (AIHBA) is India’s largest hair and beauty organisation and serves as apex body to all the recognised beauticians, hairstylists and other industry experts. AIHBA collaborates with OMC (World Federation of Hairdressers) to educate, recognise and award the experts in the industry. It holds seminars, training sessions and examinations to certify the individuals and provides a platform to participate at an International level.
Nayana Karunaratne, a hairdresser, beautician and trainer, has been a great asset to the personal care industry. She is the first Sri Lankan entrepreneur who ventured into business in India and has created a name as one of the most successful and strongest hair and beauty personalities in the world.
Nayana is the Founder President of SLAHAB. (Sri Lankan Association of Hair Dressers and Beauticians) She is presently a Board Member/President of OMC Asia Zone and a member of the Board of Governors of IHB (Institute of Hairdressers and Beauticians).
