Q: Tell us about the story of Love Digits from its inspiration to conception. Did you notice a need gap in the modern dating world? Or is there a personal story behind its launch?

A: For millions around the world, including me, checking horoscopes for compatibility is a useful tool. However it is not easy to get a high quality reading. There are a lot of astrologers out there that range in quality: some good, some bad. Also, good astrologers tend to have busy schedules and can be expensive. I was fortunate to get connected with one of the top astrologers out there – Astrologer Prasannan (http://www.prasannanjyotish.com/about/ ). I first met Prasannan in 2004, while he was on a Jyotish consultation tour in New York, where all the proceeds went to the charity of ‘Amma, the Hugging Saint’ Mata Amritandamayi from Kerala. I found his readings to be very precise and his advice practical for modern day life. 

After nearly 20 years of touring with Amma, he got married and settled back in Vancouver, Canada, with his wife in 2011. It was around this time that I first approached him about the idea for the Love Digits app. There are many dating apps in the market that help people meet, however narrowing the search to people that were compatible was hard and very time consuming. I wanted to create an app using Prasannan’s expertise to help people do just that. So I developed the Love Digits apps to bring ancient astrology to the modern dating scene.

The couple’s birth dates, times and places hold varying degrees of importance for each of the three components. The App is free to download with unlimited ability to get compatibility scores. For $ 4.99, you can upgrade and gain unlimited access to the more detailed sections. This provides access to the compatibility score breakdown and match comparison sections. Match comparison sections gives side by side access to birth charts (kundli/Jathakam) and personality traits for some of the astrological measures like Nakshatra (Indian star sign) ascendant, birth number and Chinese sign. The upgrade also includes a recommendations section for those users who haven’t found “the one” and are in need of a little nudge in the right direction.
