Sri Lanka’s oldest family-owned jewellery business M.C. Joonoos & Co launched its ‘Joonoos’ brand signature collection of jewellery for this Valentine’s season at its corporate house at No. 8/1 Flower Road, Colombo 3.

The signature Joonoos brand collection consists of exquisite and unique hand crafted jewellery maintaining the traditions of a legacy and experience inherited over the past 158 years of the company’s existence.

This valentine the company has launched its signature collection with the firm conviction that ‘anyone can catch your eye but it takes someone special to catch your heart’ with beautiful designs of  jewellery studded with precious and semi precious stones in a variety of rings, pendants, earrings, set in 18kt, 14kt, white gold and platinum.

The ‘Joonoos’ collection maintains the company’s firm belief of providing the best designs with exclusivity, and products under this collection are one-of-a-kind never to be repeated pieces.

The Joonoos brand has evolved and stood the test of time and now in its 158th  year continues to be run by the same Joonoos family, in the very capable hands of Mueen El Sabri Joonoos, a fifth generation member of the Joonoos family today.

In complementing the ‘Joonoos’ collection, the company also carries a beautiful and dazzling range of jewellery designs in its ‘Safs Classique’ brand collection, offering a wide range of designer selection jewellery to its discerning customers at very affordable prices, unmatched in the industry.

Sabri goes on to quote a little ode which does aptly describe a hereditary company this Valentine’s season, in launching of their signature brand by saying: “Valentines is coming, and sooner than not; A list must be made, and gifts must be bought; Oh where can I go, to find something in gold; To Joonoos of course, for exquisite jewellery I am told.”

In describing the ‘Joonoos’ collection Sabri stated that the designs created are classical and contemporary designs, which complement the traditions of the company and the standards of quality maintained by its founder Meera Cany Joonoos, who was known to be a perfectionist.

The mere fact that M. C. Joonoos & Co were the most preferred jeweller of the officers of the British Royal Navy as far back as 1855 does speak volumes of the credibility, integrity and service rendered by the company to the jewellery industry, which is even today maintained at a very strict and high level by the Joonoos family at the helm.
