As one might suspect, the youth of Sri Lanka don’t take competition lightly. So when Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts announced a contest to create

the best ‘Wall Art’ to adorn key locations within their newest city hotel property, Cinnamon Red Colombo, 50 individuals and teams from different creative backgrounds went all out to submit their creations and be selected for this exciting opportunity to showcase their skills. John Keells Holdings PLC Deputy Chairman Ajit Gunewardene, Cinnamon Red Colombo General Manager Terrence Fernando and British Council Colombo Head of Arts Natalie Soysa ultimately selected 10 entries to compete in the finals which were held at the new property premises recently. Ajit and Natalie were joined by award winning Film Director Vimukthi Jayasundera on the day to select the top five who would complete the final walls. The winners would receive a weekend’s stay for two at the hotel and Rs. 50,000 each in cash. Here the 10 semi-finalist hard at work. The five finalists will be making the walls of the Cinnamon hotel car park their canvas between 20 July and 10 August 2014.
