Jaffna is, above all intriguing.

A patchwork of colonial era houses with gaping holes, bright yellow buildings, fast developing busy humdrum of the town, lamps burning at the small shrines for various gods and goddesses at every turn and junction casting shadows across their faces, the lush foliage and the fanlike fronds of palmyrah palm seen at intervals besides the road, and the most incredibly orange sunset one would ever see in Sri Lanka is, what Jaffna is in a nutshell.
