Pizza Hut cooks up a storm with Master Chef Challenge

    Pizza Hut recently concluded its internal campaign Pizza Hut Master Chef Challenge 2015, which sought to develop team spirit and teamwork, inspire innovative thinking and give the hardworking Pizza Hut crew an opportunity to let their hair down and have lots of fun. The objectives of Pizza Hut’s Master Chef Challenge were to create a sense of excitement among the staff, encourage them to use their creativity and think out of the box. The Master Chef Challenge was a first for Pizza Hut and helped the company develop some interesting and delicious pizzas, pastas, appetizers and desserts. The Master Chef Challenge was open to all staff members across the island. From restaurant managers, restaurant crews and marketing personnel to delivery riders – it was a no-holds-barred competition to get the best out of everyone. The competition was divided into three rounds of judging which resulted in three teams being shortlisted for the final. In the final round, Pizza Hut teams from Rajagiriya, Wattala and Welipenna (Expressway outlet) fought for the top accolade. The final showdown was conducted at Shore by ‘O’ in Mount Lavinia where the three teams showcased their teamwork and culinary magic with Team Rajagiriya emerging as the winners while Wattala and Welipenna finished first and second runners-up respectively. “The objective of conducting the Master Chef Challenge was primarily to involve every single person at Pizza Hut. We wanted to give people a forum to showcase their creative talent and not fall into a mindset where they think they cannot contribute towards greatness. “I’m very happy with the outcome of the Master Chef Challenge and was amazed by the dedication, teamwork and problem-solving skills that each competitor displayed during the competition,” said Gamma Pizzakraft CEO Yasa Nadarajah. “We hope to conduct the Pizza Hut Master Chef Challenge every year as it has indeed helped us motivate our restaurant teams as well as help the company come up with some really outstanding and innovative creations that would definitely give us an edge as we strive to develop new menu items to stay ahead of competitor offerings,” said Pizza Hut’s Marketing Director Sharmila Arasaratnam.
