Aimed at enhancing customer experience in luxury brand market
A result of a business diversification strategy practiced by Royal Lanka Agencies, Jewel Laurel was established in 2006 to specialise in the manufacture and sale of jewellery and gems. Taking another step forward, in 2013 the company initiated the import of world-renowned brands of luxury watches, pens and men’s accessories.
Hence, enhancing its market position, Royal Lanka Agencies launched ‘Turret’, a designer store catering to the niche high-end clientele for luxury watches, gems and jewellery. The Turret showroom was ceremonially opened last week at No. 64 Dharmapala Mawatha, Colombo 3 and features renowned luxury brands such as Montblanc, Baume & Mercier, 88 Rue De Rhone, Raymond Weil and Jewel Laurel – their own flagship brand of jewellery – besides the internationally renowned clothing brands United Colors of Benetton and Sisley.
The company has been awarded ‘sole authorised retailer’ status for the brands of Montblanc, Baume & Mercier and 88 Rue De Rhone, and ‘authorised retailer’ status for Raymond Weil, which consequently makes Turret the only location in the city to sell all these brands under one roof within the Sri Lankan market.
Concurrent with the opening of the showroom, Turret also launched its state-of-the-art service centre fully equipped to provide all repair and maintenance for Swiss brand watches. Built on par with global standards, all equipment for the centre has been imported from Switzerland. It is now capable of conducting repairs on any top range luxury brand of watches.
Most notable among these brands is Montblanc – a luxury brand with German origins that dates back to 1906 – world famous for exquisitely handcrafted writing instruments, timepieces and accessories exclusively for men. The iconic Montblanc emblem is a symbol of excellence –the very pinnacle of luxury writing instruments, timepieces, jewellery, leather, fragrances and sunglasses.
Baume & Mercier is the seventh oldest watch brand in the world and is artfully crafted in Switzerland, in the Swiss Jura. Baume & Mercier timepieces are handmade using high quality materials and contain unique designs renowned the world over.
Founded in Geneva in 1976, Raymond Weil is one of the last remaining Swiss independent family-owned and family-operated watchmaking companies. With music having always been the brand’s source of inspiration, Raymond Weil is well-known for its watchmaking excellence, creative design and high quality standards offered at unequalled price points.
Yet another globally recognised brand of watches on display, 88 Rue De Rhone is the second generation of the iconic Raymond Weil brand. The relatively new yet much acclaimed 88 Rue De Rhone brand caters to the middle segment of the global wristwatch market.
Established in 2006, Jewel Laurel specialises in genuine gems and diamond jewellery set in precious metals. Jewel Laurel is famed for its product authenticity and the unique designs of its jewellery, which are produced in-house by their own craftsmen to ensure a superior quality and standard.
United Colors of Benetton and its exclusive up-market extension Sisley sees fashion as a global village dynamism and vibrant color. These internationally famous brands are now synonymous with style, panache and scintillatingly colorful designs for Men, Women, Kids in addition to a dynamic accessories range.
Through this venture, these world famous brands have been made available in Sri Lanka for quality and brand conscious customers. “It is all about making a solid impression about yourself in the minds of others,” said A.D.A. Jezmi, Director of Royal Lanka Agencies, explaining why an individual should choose a branded watch or pen or other accessory.
Having understood the paramount importance of customer satisfaction, Turret strives to attain higher levels of service delivery excellence through improved customer service and maintaining a strong relationship with their customers.
“We do not simply want to transact a sale. That is not how we operate and we have been trained not to do that. We want to really know what the customer wants and support him accordingly. We look into building good customer relationships and build our reliability among our customers. And I think we have been successful in doing so,” said A.D.A. Jawzi, Director of Royal Lanka Agencies.
The future plans of the company focuses on expanding their service network to other parts of the country and improving the brand image of Turret with a vision to be both the leader and the trendsetter in the Sri Lankan market.
