Fireworks lit up the night sky, as over 60 students from Royal College, Trinity College and Elizabeth Moir School formed a joint choir to sing the Hallelujah Chorus during their joint carols evening held in Colombo recently.
The evening began with Once in Royal David’s City and Carols by the Infant and Junior Choirs of Moir School and ended with a modern rendition of Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree with all five choirs accompanied by a joint brass band formed by students from Moir and Royal.
Inspired musician Sureka Amarasinghe had the vision of bringing the choirs of these three schools together to sing in four part harmony this Christmas.
