Home-grown resort wear brand Rum Punch takes to Colombo’s retail sphere this season, with the launch of its first store based collection ‘Active Tribal’ at Dilly & Carlo. The ‘Active Tribal’ range debuted at Colombo Fashion Week’s SWIM edition in August 2015.
The collection is vibrant and punchy, employing seasonal shades of blue, yellow and purple for a fun, flirty yet practical affair. Rum Punch designer Rukshika Fernando Seneviratne uses a colour-blocking technique together with printed and mesh fabrics, contrast binding and reflective tape for the collection.

Dilly & Carlo is one of Colombo’s top fashion retailers with stores at Flower Road, Chatham Street, the Crescat Boulevard, Liberty Plaza and K Zone Ja-Ela. Their Flower Road store will carry the new swimwear and beachwear options from the ‘Active Tribal’ collection. This includes two and one piece swimsuits, with removable cups, that suit diverse silhouettes. The swimwear is complemented by hip beach wraps that create the perfect look for the beach season.
Notably, the collection also carries a reversible style that can be worn as two different looks - effectively, two swimsuits with one purchase. Rukshika is keen to give her customers opportunities for experimentation, “This is what fashion is about. The idea of one swimsuit that can be worn in various ways is exciting - it gives me the opportunity to experiment and my customer great value for their money.”

The Rum Punch founders hail from the fashion and apparel manufacturing industries. Rukshika was formerly a senior designer for Victoria’s Secret at MAS Holdings, and drives the creative end of the business. Co-founder Binara Seneviratne possesses over a decade of experience in operations and management at MAS Holdings and amanté.
Rum Punch was launched at the 2014 Sri Lanka Design Festival and internationally at the London Graduate Fashion Week, later making its debut at Colombo Fashion Week 2015. It is also the only Sri Lankan brand to be available on Zalora.com – Asia’s largest online fashion retailer.
The brand was created for hip, stylish and fashion forward young women with a sense of adventure. Inspired prints, a colour palette that makes no apologies for its vibrant hues and a strong sense of individuality sets Rum Punch apart, making it one of Sri Lanka’s most promising resort wear labels.
