Rupert Murdoch and Jerry Hall announce engagement

Reuters (Los Angeles): Rupert Murdoch and former model Jerry Hall went public with their romance a few months ago, and now the two are preparing to take the next step.

Murdoch, chairman of 21st Century Fox and News Corp., and Hall, a former model, announced their engagement with a small item that ran Monday in the Times, the British newspaper owned by News Corp., in the Births, Marriages and Deaths section.

Hall is the former wife of Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger. Murdoch has been married three times, most recently to Wendi Deng from 2000 to 2014.

“Mr Rupert Murdoch, father of Prudence, Elisabeth, Lachlan, James, Grace and Chloe Murdoch, and Miss Jerry Hall, mother of Elizabeth, James, Georgia and Gabriel Jagger are delighted to announce their engagement.”

A Fox spokeswoman confirmed the news. “They have loved these past months together, are thrilled to be getting married and excited about their future together,” the company said in a statement.
