Samaposha brings out taste of goodness in revitalised packaging

The nation’s favourite cereal Samaposha, produced from nutritious grain cultivated by Sri Lanka’s own farmers was recently re-launched in an attractive, more colourful and eye-catching pack that revitalises the popular brand. In addition to the newly designed sachet packs, Samaposha has also introduced a new, bigger 500 g family pack to meet the growing demand from busy mothers who need more quantity for greater convenience.

Samaposha is manufactured by Plenty Foods Ltd., a fully owned subsidiary of Ceylon Biscuits Ltd. Samaposha is made of corn, rice, soya and green gram and contains Vitamins A, B, E and minerals and thiamine that provide much needed, balanced nutrition to the nation’s children helping to make them healthier in mind and body. The ingredients in Samaposha are 100% natural and 100% local.  The company has in place a successful backward integration program which results in a win-win situation for both the supplier and the producer. The farmer is assured of a guaranteed minimum price based on prevailing market rates while the company is assured of receiving high quality produce for the manufacture of Samaposha. 

The extensive out-grower system that provides the raw materials nurtures the livelihood of more than 8,500 farmers and their families, contributing significantly to enhancing Sri Lanka’s rural economy. The company even has in place a corporate welfare program providing the farmer community assistance in times of need while supporting and strengthening their livelihood. 

Samaposha has received several prestigious accolades for providing a well-balanced, quality assured, wholesome, pre-cooked breakfast cereal which is a boon for busy mothers.
