In celebration of Valentine’s Day, Shirohana has decided to take gift giving to the next level byincluding not only lovers, but friends and family as well by introducing the ‘Choose Your Emotions’ promotion. This promotion includes five different bouquets of flowers, each one a different colour to express a different emotion. For those in committed relationships, Shirohana has also created the ‘Express your Love’ promotion which starts on Valentine’s Day where Shirohana will send a special someone four love-themed bouquets, throughout the following month. Every bouquet will be delivered for free beginning 15 February to 15 March. Shirohana started in 1983, when a carnation clipping from Japan inspired the founder to bring commercial flowers to the Sri Lankan market. Today, with boutiques across Colombo, as well as Negombo and Kandy, Shirohana has developed into the leading figure in Sri Lanka’s cut-flower business. Shirohana also strives to help the communities it works with. The company has provided jobs and specialised skills to over 500 hundred people among its five farms (the largest floricultural farms in the country). Due to its expansive size, Shirohana makes it a priority to be as mindful and considerate of the environment as possible. The farms limit their use of chemicals and ensure they do not encroach on any natural habitats by working around the jungles.
