Cargills Food City and Unilever Sri Lanka successfully rolled out the fourth season of their thrilling island-wide ‘Shopping Star’ competition on 17th October. Featuring yet another action packed season of fun-filled activities and excitement, Shopping Star - Season Four has thus far generated massive buzz with enthusiastic participation from thousands of customers island-wide.
Mrs. Mayurika Nadeeshani and Mrs. Sanduni Tennakoon were the lucky winners of the district competitions held at Maharagama and Katubedda Cargills Food City outlets respectively. More winners will join them in the coming weeks to compete in the dazzling grand finale to win fantastic prizes including the grand prize of Rs. 2 million, second prize of Rs. 1 million and third prize of Rs.500, 000. The remaining seven contestants at the grand finale will walk away with gold jewellery worth Rs.50, 000 each.
Speaking on her winning fete, Mrs. Mayurika Nadeeshani said, “Shopping Star is renowned for its enjoyable experiences and fantastic prizes. I was very eager to be selected to participate in the district competition and it was undoubtedly a unique and delightful experience to race through the aisles and fill my trolley with as many items as possible. I am thrilled that I emerged the winner and eagerly await the grand finale and its amusement we have so often heard about.”
Cargills Food City customers island-wide who shop for at least three of the eight nominated Unilever brands including Signal, Lifebuoy, Sunsilk, Lipton, Pears, Vim, Surf Excel and Vaseline are eligible to partake in the exciting Shopping Star competition. Contestants for the district competitions are selected through a raffle draw and the selected contestants have to race through the aisles filling their trolleys with as many goods as possible within a specified time period. Every contestant will be rewarded with Rs.10, 000 vouchers each while the lucky district winner proceeds to the popular grand finale.
