At a glittering event of glamour and fashion, Sunsilk and the Ramani Fernando Sunsilk Hair and Beauty Academy celebrated the accomplishments of the Graduating Class of 2015 as well as their decade long partnership, which has fashioned more than 4,600 careers in the hair and beauty industry in Sri Lanka up to date.
Hair Art 2015 showcased the talents and skills of 130 students in three themed segments. The teenage haircut and colour casual hair styling which was featured in the ‘Hip Hop’ segment; the elegant, wearable hairstyling trends for long hair that was highlighted in the ‘Hair Silhouette’ section, and fantasy hairstyling which was showcased through theme of the ‘Celestial Signs of the Zodiac’.
While applauding the achievements of the graduates of the Class of 2015, Marketing Director –Personal Care for Unilever Sri Lanka, Sharmila Bandara commented on the long-standing partnership between Sunsilk and Ramani Fernando. “We at Sunsilk and Unilever feel privileged to have such a strong and time-honoured partnership with Ramani Fernando who is a pioneer in the hair and beauty landscape of Sri Lanka.”
“Sunsilk believes in continuously adding value to our consumers through our products and initiatives, and the partnership with the Ramani Fernando Sunsilk Hair and Beauty Academy has helped us work towards the bigger purpose to further developing the Sri Lankan hair and beauty industry,” she said.
In addition to showcasing the proficiencies of the graduating students of the Academy, Hair Art 2015 presented a number of special awards, including this year’s City & Guilds’ Medal of Excellence and the Best Sunsilk Student Award.

Annually, Sunsilk offers 24 scholarships to deserving and talented students to follow the Diploma in Hairdressing at the Ramani Fernando Sunsilk Hair and Beauty Academy, and additionally conducts special initiatives such as scholarships for the Sewa Vanitha unit of the Sri Lanka Army.
