Tastes of the world come to The Hamilton Deck

Feel the culture and taste the world as Reef’s Edge Resort proudly presents ‘Around the Edge of the World’ International Food Festival that will be held on 10 July from 1 p.m. – 11 p.m. at Hamilton Deck, Reefs Edge Resort, Uswetakeiyawa. The international food festival combining the best fusion cuisines of 10 carefully selected countries will also see many activities for the young and young at heart!

The day will feature some of Hamilton Deck’s famous attractions like the 200 foot Zip Line, Mega Water Slide, Slip n Slide and a Zorb Ball for those seeking a little adrenaline as well as a unique selection of Colombo’s up and coming live bands and DJs.

The stalls of the 10 countries will be laid out across the beautifully manicured lawn of the Hamilton Deck, where customers will be able to purchase food and beverage tokens to eat at as many stalls as they choose. Countries featured will include Scotland, USA, Mexico, Germany, Belgium, Russia, Japan, Italy, UK and our very own Sri Lanka.

Food lovers will be issued a ‘passport at the entrance which they can use to patronise the stalls. Trying out any dish or drink will give customers a stamp on their passport denoting that the particular country has been ‘conquered’. Guests who are able to conquer all ten countries will receive prizes and an opportunity to be a part of the raffle draw to win the five grand prizes on offer, courtesy of Reefs Edge Resort.

The carnival atmosphere will be set with performances by Magic Box Mix-Up, The Rebels, Manic, The Fix and Natalya & Friends. Each band will bring their own brand of music to the event ensuring that every guest has a song to sing along to. DJ Hitch will also spin groovy, tunes throughout the day and night to ensure that guests lose some of the pounds put on simply by looking at the extensive array of mouth watering delicacies from around the world.
