The Swiss Collection outlet, which included the top brands Etoile, Evilard and Pink Watch from Switzerland, was launched coinciding with The Commons 8th anniversary celebrations. It was officially opened by the Swiss Ambassador, and the three owners of the watch brands; F. Borel, owner of Etoile, Nicolas Voyame, owner of Evilard and Yves Borter, CEO of Pink Watch, along with Louise Siriwardene, Chairman of the project , who were present at the launch event.

This was the first visit of the Swiss brand owners to Sri Lanka who were very excited to present these unique brands to the local market. The shop will be open daily at The Commons.

Etoile launched its first watch and jewellery line in 1986 and it was the famous Swiss-Italian creator, Stefan Hafner who designed and manufactured the watches and jewellery of this first collection. Getting away from the traditional designs, and by marrying aesthetics of sober and pure lines with top quality Swiss movements, an innovative collection, was created by Fulvio Borel, allowing the brand Etoile to confirm its current unique style.

The Evilard watch brand was invented by Fritz Stuck from Bern in 1948 and is now owned and managed by his grandson Nicolas Voyame, and has seen three generations owning and managing this unique product.

Evilard watches have two collections ‘Esquisse’ and ‘LUNA’ and in order to maintain the traditional hand-made spirit, Nicolas Voyame assembles and hand finishes the Evilard watches in his workshop boutique in Morges, Switzerland. He demonstrated these skills at The Commons during the launch. The Pink Watch was represented by its CEO Yves Borter.  The Commons, Sri Lanka’s own home -grown coffee house, is an ideal venue to promote these unique fashionable watches, considering the young, modern and socially active clientele who patronise the restaurant daily.
