Three blockbuster movies on Hiru TV from today

In its efforts to enthral audience with blockbuster movies, Hiru TV is offering this weekend starting from Friday will include three good movies.

Today 18 Friday at 10:00 p.m., Hiru TV will telecast ‘Sagarayak Meda’ Sinhala movie. Directed by veteran Gamini Fonseka who also stars, the movie’s cast include; Veena Jayakodi, Irangani Serasinghe, Tonny Ranasinghe and Kamal Addaraarachchi

On Saturday at 12:00 noon Hindi Movie ‘Agent Vinod’ will be telecasted with Sinhala subtitles.



In Agent Vinod, RAW agent, Vinod (Saif Ali Khan), goes on an international mission to find out what ‘242’ is.

He kills bad men and bumps into Iram (Kareena Kapoor), a Pakistani. When ‘242’ turns out to be a nuclear bomb, about to be exploded in Delhi, Vinod is called to save the day. Agent Vinod is directed by Sriram Raghavan. The cast include; Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Ravi Kishan, Prem Chopra, Ram Kapoor, Gulshan Grover and Maryam Zakaria.

The movie borrows its name from the 1977 film of the same name. It was filmed in India, Morocco, Russia, Latvia, UK, South Africa and Pakistan.

On Sunday 20 January at 12:00 noon the Sinhala movie ‘Saroja’ which is a serious, well-made drama, focusing on a wounded Tamil Tiger soldier who sends his daughter to a Sinhalese border village to avoid starving to death in the jungle, after the Sri Lankan Army destroys a Tiger base.

The young child, Saroja, is taken in by a school teacher and his family, after befriending their daughter.

Saroja persuades the teacher to go back and rescue her father. Problems arise when they try to conceal the identities of their new guests from the rest of the village.  This film delivers a message that condemns an absurd civil war while beautifully depicting friendship among children. Directed by Somaratne Dissanayake, Saroja stars; Joe Abeywickrama, Sausantha Chandramali, Nita Fernando, Nithyavani Kandasami, Pramudi Karunarathne, Janaka Kumbukage, Asoka Peiris, Mahendra Perera, Tony Ranasinghe and Ravindra Randeniya.
