Viraga Ltd. will host its first ever International Day of Yoga celebrations on Tuesday, 21st this month. In the true spirit of ‘Yoga’ – the union, 177 countries co-sponsored the United Nations resolution to declare International Day of Yoga on 21 June every year.
“This event marking the International Day of Yoga will launch Viraga a sister company of Wild Holidays – which patronises and propounds classical yoga providing a great opportunity for anyone from beginners to advanced yoga practitioners, to take their practice to a higher level in a fun and friendly environment,” said Wild Holidays Chairman Vijith Welikala. “Our goal is to make classical yoga, in all its diversity, accessible to anyone irrespective of their age, gender, religious or ethnic background,” he further added.
The introductory session will be led by Dr. Radha Reddy, with MD in Preventive and Social Medicine. She took up teaching yoga after being an ardent yoga practitioner for the past two decades, due to strong conviction that yoga is the only scientific tool that not only prevents diseases but also has the power to heal.
“Cornerstone of classical yoga is awareness,” said Dr. Radha. “Awareness leads to concentration, concentration leads to understanding which results in peace and serenity,” she further added.
Viraga will have an array of services ranging from regular sessions in Asanas, Pranayama, special workshops and therapeutic sessions for individuals. Viraga will conduct a free session on Tuesday 21 June from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Thotupola Lakeside Resort, No 70, Piliyandala. Contact Yureshini on 077 3532841 for more information. Limited seats available on first come first served basis.
