Sri Lanka’s first-ever exclusive wallpaper and 3D wall tiles company
Sri Lanka’s first-ever exclusive wallpaper and 3D wall tiles company unveiled several new collections from global wallpaper companies Prestigious Textiles UK, Studio 465 and Disney USA, Ugepa France and many more from Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands.
Wall Art Ltd. Managing Director Kishani Weerasekera said: “We started this venture to introduce a new concept to the decorative landscape in Sri Lanka. Today the concept has been adopted by many architects, interior design companies, corporates and households. We believe in always updating our offerings in terms of designs to satisfy changing needs and trends.
“Whilst giving customers more options in design, these new ranges increase our overall selection to over 10,000 designs. We have carefully selected reputed and trusted brands and ranges so that we can give our customers the best of what’s available globally. We put of a lot of emphasis on the quality of the products we source because good wallpaper will last over 10 years. This is one of the reasons that we market US and European wall paper as they are known around the world for offering the best quality.”
Painted finishes, although great in some spaces, don’t equate to the opulence a few rolls of wallpaper can provide. Wallpaper can be one of the most dramatic and instant ways of transforming a home, business or office. With one simple roll, a room can be infused with your own personal style. The fact that most wallpaper is washable – a little known fact in countries where wallpaper is not used widely – is another factor for the increasing trend towards wall paper use in Sri Lanka. Customers can also try an ‘accent or feature wall’ to add a layer of sophistication to a room for a fraction of the cost.
Some of the key benefits using wall paper include easy installation in a matter of hours on any type of wall, less maintenance as painted surfaces usually require repainting every two to three years, longer lifespan of between eight to 10 years, washable using a sponge and soapy water, retains its original colour, covers imperfections like hairline cracks on walls that paint is incapable of doing, fire retardant so will not catch fire and spread flames, improves the value of your house, apartment or office by adding character to your walls and non-woven wallpaper is easily strippable and leaves no residue when removed.
“We have completed a large number of projects for hotels, restaurants, lounges, commercial spaces and residencies for a number of well known businesses and individuals and this is a testament to the confidence our customers place upon us. We are the only company which has a team of skilled full time installers trained overseas who are capable of wallpapering a room in four to six hours. All adhesives are imported from Europe to ensure that the highest standards are maintained. A bonus is that all installations are done free,” Weerasekera concluded.
These eco-friendly wallpapers are manufactured from material that emits no aerosols or lead. Some ranges of wallpaper are made from wood from sustainably managed forests. In fact most importantly, all these wallpapers are recyclable.
Additionally, Wall Art Ltd. is the first and exclusive distributor of 3D wall tiles in Sri Lanka. It offers over 25 designs to match specific tastes. The 20”x20” 3D tiles can be used to create unique walls at home, in apartment complexes, hotels, casinos, restaurants, night clubs, or offices. They are lightweight and durable and also extremely easy to install. Made from pure plant fibre material, they are eco-friendly, sound absorbent and provide thermal insulation.
