The Vesak lantern uses VSD technology to control the speed of the drive unit along with LED lamps which helps to reduce the electricity consumption for the lantern by over 50 percent.

The main lantern and the 78 accessory lanterns are all decorated with intricate carvings around the structure lit by multiple color combinations using the latest technology. The lantern is voluntarily built by a dedicated team of employees attached to the Facilities Management unit of ORCL. The lantern will be displayed from the Vesak Poya day up to PosonPoya Day and will be open to the general public.
